How to Play Mancala

  1. The game is played on a board with two rows of pits and two large "Kalahas" (storage pits).
  2. Each player controls the pits on their side and aims to collect as many stones as possible in their Kalaha, located to the right of their pits.
  3. Players take turns picking up all stones from one of their pits and distributing them one by one counterclockwise, skipping the opponent’s Kalaha.
  4. Stone placement starts with the next pit to the right of the one from which the stones were taken.
  5. If the last stone lands in your own Kalaha, you get an extra turn.
  6. Landing in an empty pit on your side allows you to capture that stone along with any stones in the opposite pit and place them in your Kalaha.
  7. The game ends when one player has no stones left in their pits. Any remaining stones go to the opponent’s Kalaha.
  8. The winner is the player with the most stones in their Kalaha.
